Local Authority Continuing Professional Development (Professional Learning Community)

Primary

South Gloucestershire provides a centrally organised programme of development and support for all NQTs.  This programme is purchased by a school through the training team:
http://www.southglos.gov.uk/cyp-plc
This is also available as the PLC folder in all schools.

Secondary

For NQTs in English, Maths, Science and ICT there are specific networks facilitated three times a year by Secondary Strategy advisers.  These are no charge to schools for these.  In addition there is a one day conference and further support available.  See:
http://www.southglos.gov.uk/cyp-plc
This is also available as the PLC folder in all schools.

Liz Townend (Liz.Townend@southglos.gov.uk) is the contact to whom NQTs should address their question when they email.  Some NQTs will be visited by a member of the Learning & School Effectiveness Service as part of the Quality Assurance of Support offered to NQTs by their schools.  An NQT is entitled to access any training deemed to be necessary by their school through the PLC programme.
